FAQ
Why Royal Education, and not another education firm?
We believe in providing the best services to students. This involves a commitment towards not only ensuring that the best instructors and counselors are available to support your child, but also dedicating time towards improving practices in the firm. This is something we believe, as we ground our practices from the breadth of experience, research, and interactions that we have with the students. All feedback provided is taken seriously, as we want to prove to others that we are the top education firm.
Should my child choose SAT or ACT?
A common dilemma that parents face, we believe that this is not a simple answer. We believe that dependent on the child's strengths and weaknesses along with academic background, these factors should be weighed before choosing. SAT's Common Core approach in its Critical Reading and Mathematics cater towards students who are more proficient in English (especially around annotation practices), especially after the transition from the old to new version. ACT favors those who are currently taking Pre-Calculus (for the Mathematics section) and those who are more confident in analytics and Sciences, since the ACT has a Science portion that the SAT does not have. That being stated, there are even more factors that should be taken into consideration, and a consultation would help clarify the choice better.
When is it the appropriate time to do college counseling? Is it too late if my child is a senior?
We believe that it is never too early or late to get started with college counseling, but we believe that the best time to get started is during the 9th grade (freshman year). By being able to understand what the parents and child want in their future educational path, we are able to accommodate by advising on specific courses, extracurriculars, and other outside factors. Even if your child is a senior, there are many nuances in the college application process such as types of recommendation letters and topics for essays that will strongly influence their admissions to specific universities.
